Yes bracelet!

I bought a yes bracelet off etsy a couple of weeks ago and it has just arrived, I bought it from America so it took a couple of weeks to come but it was definitely worth it! I am so happy with it, its made of rose gold and its just so simple and lovely! There were different words to chose from or you can have one costume made to whatever word or name you want.
When I saw the yes bracelet, I just thought there are so many things I want to do, I've let so many amazing experiences past me by and I thought this would be such a good way to help me try new things, I can just look down at my wrist and think, yes I can do that!
It was only £18 and it came in a lovely green gift box, it'd make such a lovely present for someone special, its so light that I don't really feel it on. I bought mine quite small because I've got really tiny wrists but you can get them costume made for your wrist size. I bought it in 6 inches and it fits really nicely, its more of a tight fit. Heres where I bought it from: www.etsy.com/shop/CREATIVEdesignbyTHAO?ref=pr_shop_more.

New buys!

Here's a few new buys, I couldn't help myself!

Firstly I bought the L'Oreal Paris Preference Wild Ombre  kit, I've wanted it for ages but couldn't find it anywhere, I did try to do it by myself before but it didn't go too well, the ends of my hair just came out quite orange and I didn't really like it. I didn't really buy it intending to use it now, I quite like my hair colour at the moment, but I thought maybe I'd want ombre hair soon and not be able to find it anywhere.
I bought the Wild Ombre No.3, its originally for blonde to dark blonde hair. I did think about getting the darker kit but the colour on the box looked very orange and after what happened last time I did it, I didn't want it to come out like that again. I will definitley be doing a blog post when I do try it out, knowing me, It'll probably be really soon!

The next thing I bought was Volume Flash Scandal Eyes mascara by Rimmel London, my mascara has recently run out, mascara can be quite expensive sometimes and I was really pleased when I saw this, it was £5 which is really cheap for a good mascara, usually the cheapest you can get is about £10. Also the brush is really thick which makes my eye lashes absolutely massive!

The last thing I bought was this gorgeous pink and white dip dyed t-shirt from Bershka, it has a palm tree patterned pocket on the left side, its got a very summery feel to it and would look so lovely with a pair of denim shorts and some vans.

Recent cake makes.

Here are a few cakes I've made recently.
The first one, I made a couple of days ago, I made two separte plain sponges and then put one on top of the other by putting chocolate frosting between them and covering it all in chocolate frosting. The frosting was really easy to make, I just mixed two bars of normal chocolate with a block of butter and then put it in the fringe to chill, once cold enough, I just whisked it and then had a lovely frosting!
I made some fondant flowers to cover the cake, its best to make them while the cake is baking so that you have time to put them on, once you've made the frosting, you only have a limited time to use it before it sets and goes hard.

The next cake I made was a bird cake, I just used a plain sponge and covered it in white fondant and then made the bird out of different coloured fondant.

The last cake I made was a smurf one, it could of probably come out a lot better, I thought I'd give it a go though, its all about practice! I made two male smurfs and one female one and just put them in a circle looking outwards on the cake.

Little bit of jewellery!

Today I got slightly carried away shopping for jewellery yet again, I pretty much spend my life in shops like Claire's accessories, I think they should give me a massive discount for being such a loyal costumer! So today I bought, a gorgeous peach coloured spiky bracelet, I've been wanting to buy it for ages but kept deciding not to but I thought you know what I really do want it! It was only £3 so it was definitely worth it.

The next thing I bought was just a gold tone cross, I've been wanting to buy a bracelet like this for ages but when I looked at them in Claire's, they were pretty expensive. Luckily for me, my mum is very good with making jewellery, so she agreed that she'd make it into a bracelet for me. The cross by itself was only £3, so I saved at least £4 which is brilliant.

I also bought a pack of 9 pairs of mustach earrings, for only £4. When I saw them I couldn't believe my luck, they are all different colours, so theres a pair for every different outfit! I thought about getting a black pair a while ago but I was put off with how expensive they were. I think one black pair by themselves were about £5, which is ridicules when I've just brought 9 different coloured pairs for less than that. My favourites are definitely the black, pink and blue pair!

I love penguins!

Everyone that knows me, knows that I have a massive thing about penguins! I love them immensely, I can easily watch happy feet over and over again and not get bored of it. Who couldn't love penguins? They're adorable and the fact that they pick one partner for life is enough to win anyone over! I do have quite a few penguin related things already but my favourites are a pair of pj bottoms and some penguin slippers!

You can imagine my excitement this morning when I opened this little black bag and inside was a silver necklace with a silver penguin pendant on it! Over the moon doesn't even cut it, I was jumping off the walls! Aswell as the fact that it is a penguin, its silver so I never have to take it off (I have a big issue with taking jewellery off before a shower and then not remembering to put it on again!)

PVB Mag review!

I am so happy to announce that the PVB mag launched on monday night and as soon as it came out, I had to have a look at it!
I love how its only made for small business and new bloggers, I think it really helps them get the recognition they deserve for all their hard work!
The interviews with shop owners and models are such a good idea, it helps get to know them and trust them better, especially if you want to buy something off them, you know that your not going to be messed about.
I also love the how to's, It's such a pain when you see something in a magazine and think I'd love to do that but you have no idea how to or even where to begin with it but in the PVB Mag the steps are so easy to follow!

If you've read my blog before, you will know that I love anything to do with baking, so it'll come as no surprise to you that I loved the recipes, as soon as I saw the strawberry and banana muffins I just wanted to try them out! Not only do they look really yummy but so quick and easy to make!
I thought having all of the lovely quotes scattered about through the magazine was such a good idea, they are all really nice to look at and very meaningful!

All the pin up Zania pictures are absolutely stunning. There are quite a few pictures featured of them but these two are by far my favourite!

I really enjoyed the vintage wedding pages by Dotty vintage wedding, they are really helpful and insight full if your planning your wedding and are struggling for ideas. She also shows you how to make the most of having an outdoor wedding, from preparing for bad weather to what type of places would be good to hold it. I thought the quircky wedding ideas were really good and I loved the pretty umbrellas and wellies for an out door one!

And of course, I am over the moon about my pages in the magazine, it looks so pretty and so professional, at first I couldn't believe that it was mine!

Lastly I'd like to mention the pin ups, they are a small group of girls who tour around the uk singing in pubs, clubs, corporate events and even festivals. I have seen there videos and can honestly say that they are very talented! They sing in the Catwalk Café in Solihull, Birmingham, every friday from 3pm, below are their gig dates coming up.

Overall I thought the first issue was brilliant and I can't wait for the next one, I am so honoured to say I was in it and so proud of my lovely sister, Peta, for making something so amazing.

PVB mag!

Today I'm very excited to have a read of the new PVB mag, it's out tonight at 6 pm and I cannot wait to see it. I have had a sneak peak of it and it looks amazing! Aswell as having a page in it myself, there are a load of talented people involved, quite a few pictures from pinup Zania, yummy recipes and lots of bloggers! There's also quite a few pages of vintage wedding inspiration from the lovely Laura which I can't wait to have a look at!
It'll defiantly be worth a read and I really can't wait to do a review on it afterwards!

A few new buys!

Yesterday I went shopping planning to buy a couple of cake bits, I went to my usual cake shop but sadly they had no white fondant which is what I'm really lacking, I wanted a few cake holders aswell but the prices in there were ridiculous. I was slightly disappointed to say the least! I carried on going through shops though, I went into Claire's accessories and bought a lovely pack of plain gold, silver and black toned rings which were only £5, I'm really pleased about these because I love simple things.
I carried on shopping and to my delight I found a brand new cake decorating shop, I was like a kid at Disney land! The prices were so much cheaper than my usual one and I ended up spending quite a bit of time in there, it was massive! I ended up buying a kilo of white fondant, a pot of purple edible glitter and a bag of Wilton pink vanilla candy melts. I've never seen anything like the candy melts before and I didn't really know what they were when I got them but I discovered that they are amazing for icing!

Style and grace set

Today I received a late birthday present from my aunt and I can honestly say its one of the loveliest presents I've gotten, it's a gorgeous slipper set from style and grace and a bottle of body lotion and body wash comes with it. The slippers are so soft and comfy, I have yet to try the body wash out but I have tried the lotion and it smells so lovely! I would definitely recommend this as a gift, I'm one of those people that tends to save things for best but I'm not going to be keeping this hidden in the cupboard, I can't wait to use them every day!
All though I love having presents on my birthday, I also love having late presents so then it makes it last out! Birthdays in my house tend to last a few days anyway and the excitement of getting a present in the post is defiantly worth the wait!

Birthday time!

So on sunday, it was my birthday and I turned 20, so I unwillingly had to say goodbye to my teenage years, theres nothing worse than realising you're now a grown up! And whats even worse is that the next big birthday is the 30!! You may think its a long way off but the older you get, the quicker years pass!
To celebrate my birthday, I went shopping the day before, I ended up mostly window shopping but after alot of deliberation, I did purchase these gorgeous wine coloured vans.

The reason there was alot of deliberation was because I had my heart set on a pair of turquoise vans that I had seen on the internet but couldn't find any like it anywhere! But all in all, I was pretty chuffed with these and they'll probably go with more outfits!

On sunday, I just had a very chilled day, I got given an ipad for my birthday, so I pretty much spent ALL day on it, I never understood all the fuss over them before but now I can't put it down! It's great for games and apps, I downloaded the wilton app for cakes which was free, if you don't have it already and love baking, you should really get it, theres loads of cake ideas and it tells you what tools you need to use and also the techniques, great for begginners like myself! I also downloaded a cupcake app called party cupcake recipes 1000+ and it's absolutely brilliant, so many gorgeous recipes to choose from, can't wait to give them a go!

I also got some baking things for my birthday, including a gorgeous apron, some pink tools and a box to put them in which I'm slightly in love with!

I got some gorgeous cards aswell, my sister bought me this cake card which I think is so lovely!
